Smocked Baby Outfits

Smocked baby outfits from two French houses, Marie Puce and Emile et Ida, hand gathered and stitched into dresses, blouses, and bubble rompers that read as heirlooms even when they are brand new.

Our Story

Our story began over 30 years ago, with my Grandmother, Mara.

She tucked away the pieces my mother, Lovorka, meticulously chose for my sisters and me, storing them with care in a drawer. Every summer, she would take them out again like heirlooms, revisiting her favorite moments from our childhood with one clear intention: that one day they would be well loved by her great grandchildren.

In 2022, Rama Baby was created to help more families find the special pieces you’ll love today, cherish tomorrow, and keep as a tangible token of your most precious memories.

Each piece in our family & woman operated store is lovingly hand chosen from designers around the world for quality, timelessness, and beauty.

So the clothing your child wears is loved now and treasured for generations to come.

The Craft of Smocking

Traditional smocking gathers fabric into small, even pleats before embroidering across them, a technique with roots in French and English children's wear going back generations. It is part of why smocked pieces feel like heirlooms even when they are brand new.

Why It Feels Like Family

A smocked dress is the kind of piece that gets tucked away after the occasion it was worn for, not because it no longer fits, but because it feels like it should be kept.

Blouses, Dresses, and Bubble Rompers in French Florals

Marie Puce brings smocked blouses and dresses in prints like roses bouquet and primrose blue, plus bubble rompers in the same smocked bodice. Emile et Ida's smocked tops and blouses lean into softer, vintage inspired florals. Together they make up our smocked selection.
